In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve. The Son of Man came to give his life to save many people. - Mark 10:45 IBC
Take a look at how well even our littlest students were able to serve like Jesus through our Service Learning Program.

This year, the LIS English Department hosted our own version of Letters Live, inspired by the event that began in London in 2013 to celebrate the art of letter writing. Students from Grades 6-10 wrote letters on topics of their choice, sharing their thoughts, stories, and emotions.
After a selection and judging process, ten letters were read aloud and three winners were chosen. The goal of this activity was simple but powerful: to give students a voice and remind us all of the beauty and impact of heartfelt letter writing.

Celebrating 100 days of learning, growing, and smiling together! 💯✨
Our day was filled with numbers; helping students grasp the true magnitude of the number one hundred. Teachers created special lessons to challenge students to use math in creative ways across all subjects throughout the day. And to make it even more fun, our Preschool came dressed like they were 100 years old, while Elementary students wore numbers all over.
We place the rest of the days to come this year in God’s hands, praying they are filled with joy and the love of Jesus in our classrooms. ✨🙏

Now this is Christmas! For the second year in a row, our Preschool and Elementary students lived the true meaning of the season through service.
Together with their parents and teachers, our children led the way, reminding us that wisdom is often learned through experience, and sometimes best modeled through the heart of a child. With joy and generosity, they prepared more than 500 care packages to support children, youth, adults, and senior citizens in our community.
These packages were lovingly prepared for:
• Senior adults at the Senior Day Center of the Municipality of Santa Ana
• Children and youth served by Fundación Bandera de Libertad
• Caregivers supported by the Caregiver Support Program and Casa Gary, serving patients from rural areas
• Children from underserved communities through Ministerio Cristo de Atam
• Boys and girls from Alturas (Lomas del Río, Pavas)
• Minors at the Centro de Formación Juvenil Zurquí
Through this experience, our students understood more deeply that serving others is a powerful way to live out their faith, and many parents found themselves learning alongside them. We are grateful to God and to every family who partnered with us to bless others this Christmas ✨

This year, Lighthouse International School reached a new milestone with its first-ever external LIS MUN, welcoming delegates from The British School and Colegio San Luis Gonzaga.
Throughout the event, students stepped into global roles to debate some of today’s most pressing issues, from the Venezuelan refugee crisis and transnational crime, to the war in Ukraine and the international implications of the Israel–Palestine conflict. They even explored ethics and power through a creative Special Committee: The Assembly of Olympus – The Trial of Prometheus.
Our delegates demonstrated leadership, diplomacy, critical thinking, and a remarkable commitment to seeking solutions. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and passion for global dialogue.
LISMUN 2025 was not only academically enriching, it was truly unforgettable.
