Learning

Support Program

At Lighthouse, we recognize that every student learns differently. Our Learning Support Program provides specialized assistance for students with diverse learning needs through individualized  strategies and reinforcement. Our dedicated support teachers collaborate closely with classroom teachers to provide targeted instruction and consistent guidance throughout the learning process.

Language

Acquisition Programs

To support students joining our bilingual community, we offer tailored language programs in some grade levels:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL): Personalized support for students whose first language is not English, helping them develop proficiency and confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

 

  • Spanish as a Second Language (SSL):
    Tailored guidance for students whose first language is not Spanish, fostering language skills and cultural understanding.
Our

Cafeteria

promotes healthy eating habits to support students’ growth, focus, and overall well-being.

  • Students may bring food from home or purchase meals and snacks prepared on-site.
  • The menu is varied, nutritious, and updated weekly.
  • This service is optional and paid separately.
Safe and reliable

Transportation

is provided for students in select areas.
Routes:

  • Bus 1: Santa Ana – Centro, Pozos, Alto de las Palomas, Lindora, Río Oro, Piedades
  • Bus 2: Guachipelín de Escazú, Distrito Cuatro, Alto de las Palomas, San Rafael de Escazú, San Antonio de Escazú, Trejos Montealegre, Bello Horizonte, Aurora de Alajuelita, Pavas
  • Safety standards: All buses have seatbelts, insurance coverage, and undergo regular mechanical inspections.
  • Staffing: Two trained adults ensure students travel safely and orderly.

& Counseling

Lighthouse provides psychology and counseling services to support students in navigating social, emotional, and personal challenges.

These services include individual guidance, group sessions, and strategies to foster resilience, well-being, and healthy relationships.

College

& Career Guidance

We prepare students for higher education and future careers with comprehensive guidance throughout their high school years.

  • Personalized support in career and college selection, application, and admission processes.
  • Participation in university fairs and on-campus visits, as well as visits to colleges outside of school, providing students with firsthand experience of different higher education opportunities.
  • Ongoing coaching and counseling to ensure a smooth transition to college or university.
