What is Lighthouse International School?
Lighthouse International School is a Christian school that was born from a vision of combining academic excellence with character education. Lighthouse offers a curriculum geared toward international university preparation that exists to develop the whole child through a vibrant, Christ-centered environment and a comprehensive academic program, so that the students may grow to give back to the world with intelligence, confidence, integrity and kindness. Lighthouse maintains the vision of leading out a new generation of children on their life path, based on the verse Proverbs 6:23 - "For sound advice is a beacon, good teaching is a light, moral discipline is a life path."

Where is Lighthouse located?
Lighthouse is located in Guachipelín approximately 1 KM North of the Guachipelín tunnel.

What grades will be offered at Lighthouse?
Pre-Kinder through 8th grade will be offered for the 2011-2012 school year. One grade per year will be added as each school year progresses until arrival and graduation at 12th grade in the 2015-2016 school year.

How many students will Lighthouse have in each class?
The maximum class size at Lighthouse is 20 students.

How many students will Lighthouse have at full enrollment?
The current building will reach capacity at approximately 300 students. Plans are underway to build a new facility to house larger enrollment.

What is the academic calendar of Lighthouse?
Lighthouse will offer an international calendar, conducive to the Costa Rican summer and the North American summer, and graduation with entrance to Costa Rican or international universities. The dates of 1st semester will be mid-August – mid-December. The dates of 2nd semester will be February - June. Click here to see academic calendar.

Is Lighthouse International School managed by a particular church?
No, Lighthouse is an interdenominational Christian school governed by its own Board of Directors and Spiritual Covering Pastoral Team.
